The Camino is open!<\/strong> (Depending on what restrictions apply to you…) Just like at more normal times, the question of where to sleep quickly comes up<\/strong>. Since the Covid appeared however, everything is more complicated! Already opened, soon to open, closed this year or closed forever… How can you know which accommodations are open to pilgrims?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This post is dedicated to list the open accommodations in Spain, Portugal and France<\/strong>. And also to provide links with the freshest information possible!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planning your nights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All accommodations have set up sanitary procedures and measures<\/strong> to insure everyone’s safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some measures are enforced by governments<\/strong> and are now mandatory for any touristic place that wants to be opened to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other measures have been thought and proposed by Camino societies<\/strong> to help adapt the rules to the specific features of pilgrim hosting.
Portugal has been the first country to introduce an official certification, to distinguish establishments that are especially safe and thorough in their management of the virus, with the label “Clean & Safe”<\/strong>
In Spain, the AMCS (Asociaci\u00f3n de Municipios del Camino de Santiago) even created the “Albergue Seguro” label<\/strong> to distinguish accommodations that have the most thorough heath measures.
In France, various independent label exist, but no official one, nor one specific to the French Caminos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, each accommodation can decide to adapt their policies<\/strong> according to their own possibilities. It can be accepting reservation ahead only, groups or individuals only, putting 1 pilgrim per room, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In short, there are so many variables and so many things changing over time! It is necessary<\/span> for every pilgrim this year to get information and certain ahead<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
